A&S served as the drywall, acoustical ceilngs and raised access flooring subcontractor for O’Neal Construction on this high profile $200,000,000 project.  The project consisted of the construction of a new 350,000 sq ft state of the art electrical transformer factory and office building located at Rivergate Industrial Park.  A&S contract value was approximately $1,955,000 upon completion.

Over 2,500 man days (or 20,000 man hours) were necessary to complete our work which included interior and exterior wall assemblies, acoustical ceiling assemblies, and raised access computer flooring. This was a design build project and A&S was heavily involved in assistance with designing a metal framing assemblies in lieu of structural steel girts in an effort to reduce overall project cost. The manufacturing facility consists of three areas. each with very high ceiling heights necessary to accommodate the increasing size of the large transforms as they are being manufactured. In fact, we installed acoustical ceilings ranging from 23′ to 65′.  Additionally, a significant amount of the wall framing in the manufacturing area required 37′ wall studs. The acoustical ceilings in the office building were comprised of Armstrong’s unique “Techzone” ceilings with integrated linear light fixtures with ceiling tiles in 4’x4′ configurations.
