SAFETY ALWAYS

Our people are the lifeblood of our operations and keeping them safe is our priority.  We strive not to simply meet the minimum requirements for the project at hand, but thrive in a culture of Safety Always.

Safety is top priority at A&S. The owner of the company, William Roark, is himself OSHA 30 certified, as are all of our superintendents, and many of our foremen. Each of our project managers is either currently OSHA 30 certified or working toward attainment thereof. All foreman are at least OSHA 10 hour certified and several are OSHA 30. Many of our carpenters are OSHA 10 hour certified. We go above and beyond with safety training, not for the certifications or the “card”, but for the knowledge that powers us to truly work safer, day in and day out. Safety is not just a once a week Tool Box Talk but is every day, all day.  We value it and embrace it always.

We are proud members of the Tennessee Drug Free Workforce and conduct drug testing and training accordingly. We also employ the services of Fortier Loss Control Consultants to assist us with the design of our safety program and surprise safety inspections on our jobs sites on a random, unannounced basis.  Each and every potential deficiency is immediately used as a teaching moment in our effort to continually improve.

As a result of safety being part of our culture and embraced from the top down and the bottom up, we enjoy the lowest Experience Modification Factor available for our work class codes and our sized business. We are proud to say that our MOD is 0.72.  Simply stated, compared to others that work in the same class codes as A&S, we are statically 28% safer than the industry average.

Safety matters at A&S and you can count on us to be safe on your job site.
